CBRT Foundations

A 9-Week Live Course in Mindfulness, Compassion, and Resilience

CBRT Foundations is a live, relational training designed to help participants move from stress-driven survival patterns toward greater resilience, self-compassion, and clarity. Rooted in Compassion-Based Resilience Training (CBRT), this course integrates mindfulness practice, compassion cultivation, and embodied nervous system regulation in a structured, supportive group setting.

This program is offered through rolling enrollment, with new cohorts forming regularly. Group sizes are intentionally limited to support depth, safety, and meaningful practice.

What Is CBRT?

Compassion-Based Resilience Training (CBRT) is a structured, experiential approach that helps individuals understand and transform habitual stress responses. Through guided practice, reflection, and group learning, participants develop the capacity to respond to difficulty with greater awareness, steadiness, and compassion — toward themselves and others.

CBRT Foundations emphasizes:

  • mindfulness as a stabilizing foundation
  • compassion as a trainable capacity
  • embodied practices that support nervous system regulation
  • integration into daily life and relationships

Course Structure (9 Weeks)

CBRT Foundations unfolds over nine weeks, allowing time for learning, practice, and integration.

Weeks 1–4: Mindfulness Foundations
Participants develop attentional stability, body awareness, and the ability to notice stress responses as they arise.

Week 5: Intermezzo (Integration Week)
A dedicated integration week to:

  • review and consolidate mindfulness practices
  • prepare the nervous system for compassion-based work
  • reflect on personal patterns and insights

This transition supports deeper engagement with the compassion modules that follow.

Weeks 6–9: Compassion-Based Practices
Participants learn and practice compassion skills that foster emotional resilience, self-regulation, and relational presence.

Formats & Group Size

CBRT Foundations is offered in the following formats:

Live Online Groups

  • Small groups (typically 1–4 participants)
  • Ideal for those seeking a more intimate virtual learning environment

Live In-Person Groups

  • Groups of approximately 5–12 participants (up to 15)
  • Offered locally when available

Group sizes are intentionally limited to support relational safety and effective learning.

Optional Practice Labs

During the Intermezzo week, optional in-person practice labs may be offered for participants who wish to deepen their experience of CBRT breathing and regulation techniques. These sessions focus on embodied learning and hands-on guidance.

Availability may vary by cohort and location.

Individualized Support (Limited Availability)

In some cases, individualized online sessions may be available:

  • for participants seeking personalized instruction, or
  • to support preparation for joining an existing cohort when timing requires additional support

Availability and fees are discussed individually and are not guaranteed.

Enrollment & Commitment

Enrollment for CBRT Foundations is rolling.
Cohorts begin regularly, with the next cohort starting soon.

Because this is a live, relational course:

  • consistent attendance is expected

  • group continuity is an important part of the learning experience

Is This Course a Good Fit?
